Position Registered Early Childhood Educator Job Type Permanent position, Full-time Responsibilities - Understand and comply with provincial, municipal and Sunrise Guidance Policies and requirements. - Plan and implement a consistent child-centered program and activities in accordance with Montessori curriculum. - Co-ordinate the programming of the Classroom program with the Early Learning and Childcare curriculum. - Organize and implement activities of the children as outlined in program plans; including components required by the Childcare and Montessori curriculum, such as reading stories, teaching songs, art painting, dramatic play, music and physical activities, etc. - Observe and keep records on individual children, including daily observations and information about activities, meals served, and medications administered; prepare reports for parents, guardian and supervisor, and make recommendations to support future development and success. - Instruct children in health and personal habits such as eating, resting, and toilet habits. - Support children’s emotional and social development, encouraging understanding of others and positive self-concepts. - Maintain positive relationship with parents and colleagues; work with families by providing feedback on children’s development. - Assist with the physical condition of the child care facility, classroom set-up and arrangement to maintain an environment that protect the health, security and well-being of children. - Plan and organize activities for before and after school program. - Attend school regular meetings or trainings of child development, heath safety and nutrition, working with families and communities etc. Location 180 Amber St, Markham, Ontario, L3R 3J8 | |
