| Nathan Squires is looking for two Thoroughbred Grooms and two Thoroughbred Exercise Riders for the 2022 Racing Season at Woodbine Racetrack, 555 Rexdale Blvd., Etobicoke (Toronto), Ontario. Start date March 1, 2022. Must have at least three years experience with horses at a racetrack. Groom Job Description - Daily care of 4-5 horses, oversee nutritional requirements of individual horses, detect any health and lameness issues at an early stage, fit all tack and equipment used in training or racing to individual horses, and race day preparation. $15/hour based upon a 40-42 hour work week. Exercise Rider job description - teaching the young horses the skills they need to race safely and effectively, maintain conditioning on the older horses, detect and lameness problems early, suggest changes to the training regime of individual horses and maintain and clean all tack and equipment. $18.80/hour based on a 30 - 36 hour work week. | |
