| Job location: 3601 Lawrence Avenue East Unit 11, Scarborough, ON M1G 1P5 Job responsibilities include: - Fit and study garments on customers to determine required alterations using tape measure - Sew clothing using needles, thread and/or sewing machine - Work with embroidery, sewing beads, laces, stones and other decorative ornaments that go on the traditional South Asian clothing - Design different patterns to client’s liking and alter it accordingly - Remove stitches from garments to be altered, using rippers and/or razor blades - Prepare unique sample clothing to display in the store - Sew in buttons and button holes when needed - Fit, alter, repair and make made-to-measure clothing according to customer’s specifications - Estimate the cost of the clothing to prepare based on factors such as time and material requirements - Put in padding and shaping materials when needed - Mark, cut and sew fabric while also have knowledge on altering and repairing the clothing as required. | |
